This Privacy Policy explains how Digitalizz ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the IZZ Scanner mobile application (the "App").
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you use the App to scan an NFC tag or a QR/barcode and request a verification, we send the scanned identifier (for example, an NFC UID or the contents of a QR code) to our verification servers in order to return the corresponding record. We do not collect names, addresses, or other personal contact information through the App unless you choose to enter it on our website.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device data: device model, operating system version, App version, and language. We use this to debug crashes and ensure compatibility.
- Usage data: aggregated, anonymized counts of scans (for example, total NFC scans per day) used to monitor service health.
- Network data: IP address as part of normal HTTPS request processing. IP addresses are used for security and abuse prevention and are not linked to a personal profile.
1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your contacts, calendar, photos, location, microphone audio, or background activity.
- We do not include third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
- We do not sell your data to anyone.
2. How the App Uses Sensitive Permissions
- Camera: requested only when you tap a "Scan" button. The camera feed is processed on-device by iOS to decode QR/barcode content. No image or video frame is uploaded.
- NFC: requested only when you tap a "Scan NFC" button. The App reads the unique identifier of the tag using Apple's CoreNFC framework and discloses only that identifier to our verification API.
- Photo library / microphone: not used at this time. The App only declares these descriptions for forward-compatibility with future features.
3. How We Use Information
- To return verification results for the items you scan.
- To maintain and improve the security, reliability, and performance of the App.
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse of the verification platform.
- To comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests from authorities.
4. Data Sharing
We do not share your information with third parties for marketing. We may share information with:
- Service providers that host our infrastructure (for example, Cloudflare, our hosting providers) under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
- Authorities when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Digitalizz, our users, or the public.
- Successors in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, subject to the same protections set out in this Policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain verification-request logs for a limited operational period (typically up to 90 days) and aggregated usage statistics indefinitely in non-identifiable form. You may request deletion of any record associated with you by contacting us at the email below.
6. Security
All traffic between the App and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS. Access to backend systems is limited to authorized personnel and protected by strong authentication. No system is perfectly secure; we ask you to safeguard the device on which the App is installed.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. International Users
The App is operated from Azerbaijan. By using the App, you consent to the processing of your information in Azerbaijan and any other country where our service providers operate.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you, restrict or object to certain processing, and request portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@digitalizz.az. We will respond within a reasonable period.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced inside the App or on https://digitalizz.az.
